MAYOR ST. JOHN LISTENS TO NEEDS OF VERNE YOUTH!!

“I’m all for it!  Right now, we’re stretched pretty thin, budgetarily,” said the

Mayor.  “But once we get done with the powerwashing of all the vacant

storefronts on Main St., I don’t see why we can’t build the kids a skate park.”

The young people of Verne have expressed the need for a skate park, and the Mayor has agreed to a meeting to discuss the matter in the coming weeks.

Here’s a photo of a skate park similar to the one young people

are asking for.  “Not exactly like this, but kind of,” commented

one youth.

The effort is being led by Elvin Hempler, age

unknown, who lives with his mom on West Ridge Road.  He has even offered up his mom’s garage as a place to hold the meeting.  “I guess the Mayor knows my mom pretty well.  I’m looking

forward to getting him alone to discuss it,”

said Elvin.
